What this skill does
Q-SYS — Printing Press CLI Prerequisites: Install the CLI This skill drives the qsys-pp-cli binary. You must verify the CLI is installed before invoking any command from this skill. If it is missing, install it first: 1. Install via the Printing Press installer. It defaults binaries to $HOME/.local/bin on macOS/Linux and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PrintingPress\bin on Windows: 2. Verify: qsys-pp-cli --version 3. Ensure the reported install directory is on $PATH for the agent/runtime that will invoke this skill. If the npx install fails (no Node, offline, etc.), fall back to a direct Go install (requires Go 1.26.6 or newer). This installs into $GOPATH/bin (default $HOME/go/bin), so add that directory to $PATH instead: If --version reports "command not found" after install, the runtime cannot see the binary directory on $PATH. Do not proceed with skill commands until verification succeeds. QSC splits every integrator answer across three sites: qsys.com carries the spec-sheet PDFs where the electrical numbers live, help.qsys.com carries configuration and compatibility with zero electrical specs, and support.qsys.com carries the FAQ, application notes, and fault articles. None of them accepts a list of models. This CLI harvests all three into local SQLite, joins them per product, and answers spec, configuration, wiring, compatibility, and fault questions offline - including from a job site with no usable network. When to Use This CLI Use this CLI for questions about Q-SYS equipment: what a product's specifications are, how to configure it, how to wire and network it, whether an equipment list runs on a given Q-SYS Designer version, and what a fault string on a Designer screen means. It is built for AV integrators, designers, and commissioning techs working from an equipment list, and it works fully offline once harvested, which matters on job sites with locked-down networks. …
